Locum Specialist Psychiatrist - Inpatient - Chermside, Brisbane QLD

About the Role: We are seeking an Inpatient Specialist Psychiatrist for a locum placement at a major tertiary referral hospital in Chermside, Brisbane QLD. This contract runs from 19 October to 13 November 2026. You will join a large teaching and referral hospital of approximately 663 beds in Brisbane's north, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team and gaining exposure to significant clinical variety, alongside education and research opportunities.

- Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for inpatients with acute and complex mental health presentations
- Lead clinical decision making and risk assessment within the inpatient setting
- Participate in ward rounds, case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Provide clinical guidance and supervision to junior medical staff
- Collaborate with nursing, allied health and community mental health teams
- Contribute to treatment planning, discharge planning and coordination of ongoing care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

About You:

- AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner with specialist registration in Psychiatry
- Experience in inpatient adult psychiatry
- Confident managing a broad range of acute and complex mental health presentations
- Works effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Eligible to work in Australia
