Our client is a well-established Perth accounting and advisory firm known for its collaborative culture and long-standing client relationships. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Business Services team, working with a diverse portfolio of SMEs, family groups and trusts.
This is a great step for an accountant who wants more client contact, exposure to advisory work and a clear path towards Manager.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing financial statements, tax returns and workpapers for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Managing your own portfolio of business clients, acting as their day-to-day point of contact
- Preparing and lodging BAS, IAS and FBT returns, and managing client tax compliance
- Providing practical tax planning and business advice
- Reviewing the work of junior team members and mentoring graduates and cadets
- Assisting with ATO correspondence, ad hoc projects and client queries
- Identifying opportunities to add value for clients and build the firm’s advisory offering
About you:
- CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
- 4+ years’ experience in public practice, in business services or tax
- Robust working knowledge of Australian tax and accounting standards
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and/or a practice management suite (e.g. XPM, Xero Tax, MYOB, APS or similar)
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in developing others
