Afrimat Lyttelton, based in Centurion has a fixed-term vacancy for a:

Plant Operator

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies

- Matric / Grade 12.
- Valid driver's license.
- 2 years+ experience in a mining environment.
- Ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
- Be able to work in a rapid-paced and dynamic environment.
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the plant, while ensuring that the product is produced according to the right quality specifications.
- Conducting pre-start checklists and inspections.




- Ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant.
- Operate the plant according to its desired capacity and specifications.
- Work safely while always maintaining a clean and neat working environment.
- Report any maintenance related problems and production related issues to the immediate superior.
- Adhere to minimum site safety/Mine Health & Safety Act requirements.
- Have a basic understanding of different products.
- Be willing to work overtime as and when required.
