Role Overview:

We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Sandwich Hand & Café All-Rounder to join our team. In this role, you will prep and assemble high-quality sandwiches, assist with counter service, operate the POS register, and help maintain a clean, secure, and welcoming shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare fresh sandwiches to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Handle daily prep, including washing and slicing vegetables, organizing deli meats, and portioning ingredients.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, stock rotation, and freshness throughout the shift.
- Strictly follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP/workplace health and safety (WHS) guidelines.

Front-of-House & Customer Service:

- Greet customers with a warm, friendly attitude and take orders accurately.
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, process cash and card payments, and balance the register.
- Pack takeaway orders and handle phone or online orders efficiently during peak lunch rushes.

Cleanliness & General Operations

- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace, display counter, and dining area.
- Restock fridges, dry goods, packaging,



and front-of-house display cases.
- Wash dishes, clean kitchen equipment (toasters, counters), and handle waste disposal at the end of the shift.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

- Experience: Previous experience working as a sandwich hand, deli assistant, or café all-rounder is preferred.
- Certificates: Valid Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain one); [Optional] Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) if serving alcohol.
- Skills:
- Basic knife skills and food-prep speed.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and POS cash-handling skills.
- Attributes: Punctual, reliable, tidy, and a strong team player.
