HEAD CHEF

The Prince of Wales is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re looking for an experienced Head Chef to join us and help shape the future of the venue.

We are looking for a passionate, creative and motivated Head Chef who wants the opportunity to build something from the ground up. Experience with Irish/English style cooking would be an advantage but not necessary.

Working closely with the owner and management team, you will play an important role in developing the food offering, creating the menu and establishing the kitchen culture and standards for the venue.

THE ROLE

As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen while working closely with the owner to develop a menu that reflects the vision of the new Prince of Wales, which will be an Irish/English twist on Aussie pub food.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Working directly with the owner to create and develop the menu
- Developing seasonal specials and current dishes
- Creating a food offering that is high quality, approachable and commercially successful
- Leading, training and developing the kitchen team
- Managing day-to-day kitchen operations and service
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
- Managing food costs, ordering, stock control and wastage
- Developing recipes and ensuring consistency across the kitchen
- Managing kitchen labour and rosters
- Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and compliance standards
- Building a positive and qualified kitchen culture
- Working closely with front-of-house and management to deliver an exceptional customer experience

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who:





- Has proven experience as a Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef ready to take the next step
- Is passionate about food and hospitality
- Is creative and enjoys developing menus
- Has strong leadership and communication skills
- Understands the importance of food costs, margins and portion control
- Can lead a busy kitchen while maintaining quality and consistency
- Is organised, reliable and hands-on
- Takes pride in their work and their kitchen
- Wants genuine input into the direction of the food offering
- Is looking for the opportunity to put their own stamp on a recent venue

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is more than simply taking over an established kitchen.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with the owner to build the menu, establish the kitchen team and help shape the identity of the Prince of Wales from the beginning.

We want someone who will bring their ideas, experience and passion to the table and work collaboratively with the owner to create a food offering that customers will want to come back for.
