Casual Disability Support Worker – Engadine

Location: Engadine, NSW
Pay: From $45.28 per hour
Hours: Thursday or Saturday, 4 hour shifts (ongoing weekly)

Supporting Needs is looking for a friendly, reliable and patient Support Worker to support an older male participant based in Engadine who experiences mental health challenges.

We are looking for someone who is understanding, emotionally mature and enjoys building genuine connections. The participant requires support with attending appointments, accessing the community and enjoying regular outings.

About the role

You will support the participant with:

- Thursdays: Attending medical appointments, providing transport and assisting with community access
- Saturdays: Community outings, visiting cafes, exploring different places and enjoying activities
- Providing companionship and engaging in meaningful conversations
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and maintaining a positive workplace
- Building a genuine and trusting relationship
- Encouraging independence and confidence in everyday activities

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

- Fluent in English with excellent verbal communication skills
- Patient, understanding and comfortable supporting someone with mental health challenges
- Emotionally mature,



calm and able to handle different situations professionally
- Friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoys having conversations
- Reliable, punctual and committed to regular weekly shifts
- A safe and confident driver
- Respectful of the participant's personal boundaries and individual needs

Previous experience in mental health or disability support is highly regarded. However, we also value the right personality, attitude and willingness to learn.

Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Full working rights in Australia
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Fluent spoken English
- Availability on Thursdays or Saturdays for a regular 4 hour shift
