Cova Studios is a full-service video production house working with brands in tech, construction, medical and adventure. We take projects from pre-production through to social, and we’re looking for an experienced editor to join the team on a casual basis.
The role
- Cutting brand films, short-form social content and episodic series from start to finish
- Turning interview-led and documentary-style footage into clear, engaging stories
- Building selects, assemblies and fine cuts, and seeing projects through client feedback
- Basic colour, sound mix and export across platforms (16:9, 9:16, 1:1)
- Working closely with our directors to keep the house style consistent
You’ll need
- Strong editing experience, ideally 3+ years in commercial, branded or documentary work
- To be fluent in DaVinci Resolve (we work in a shared Blackmagic Cloud setup)
- A good ear for story, pacing and music
- Confidence to bring your own creative voice: pitch ideas, push back when something isn’t working,
and help shape the work rather than just cut it
- To be organised and reliable with deadlines and file management
- A reliable setup for work from home (decent machine, fast internet)
- To be based on the Sunshine Coast, and happy to meet up regularly to review cuts and plan projects
- A showreel that shows you can make something feel good
Nice to have
- Colour grading chops, especially with Sony log footage
- Motion graphics or Fusion skills
- Experience cutting social-first content that performs

- Casual, 2–3 days per week, with scope to grow
- Remote-friendly, with regular in-person catchups preferable.
