Wall and Floor Tiler – Full-Time

Canning Construction is seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our growing team. Based in Cairns, we deliver bathroom renovations, new homes and secondary dwellings across Far North Queensland.

We’re looking for someone reliable, practical and confident completing tiling work from surface preparation through to the finished result.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Reading plans, checking measurements and setting out tile layouts.

- Inspecting and preparing floors and walls, including removing existing finishes, levelling surfaces and applying screeds.

- Installing ceramic, porcelain, stone and other tiles to walls and floors.

- Measuring and cutting tiles around fixtures, fittings, corners and penetrations.

- Achieving correct falls, consistent joints, accurate alignment and neat finishes.

- Completing grouting, sealing and silicone finishing.

- Coordinating with supervisors and other trades to keep work progressing.

- Maintaining clean, safe work areas and protecting clients’ properties.

About you

You will bring:

- A relevant trade qualification in wall and floor tiling,



or substantial relevant experience demonstrating equivalent trade skills.

- Experience completing residential tiling, particularly bathrooms and wet areas.

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.

- Reliable attendance, clear communication and a professional approach with clients.

- A Construction White Card.

- A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel between project sites.

Experience with large-format tiles, niches, mitred edges and detailed bathroom finishes will be highly regarded.
