Muso's Mind Music School is growing and so we are looking for a driven piano - teacher to expand the team.

We are a school dedicated to passing on our love of music to students by developing their music ability holistically. We mentor kids as young as 4 years-old to students preparing for VCE at our Balwyn North location and we believe that a teacher's passion for music is critical in a students' success. Teacher responsibilities:

- Understand and create tailored lesson plans for students based on their age and ability.

- Incorporate a mix of methods from our training and inject your own personality to deliver fun and engaging one-on-one lessons.

- Support students' musical development holistically with appropriate repertoire selection.

- Build supportive and encouraging relationships with the student and parent and create a welcoming learning environment.

- Help students prepare for performance opportunities at recitals and exams.

Essential attributes:

- Ability to be able to read music and play by-ear.

- Minimum AMEB grade 8 piano or equivalent.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Understanding how to use technology (such as Google Meets).

- Demonstrates eagerness to learn.

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the child.





- Current Working With Children Check or VIT registration and Police Check or willingness to obtain one.

Bonus but non-essential attributes:

- Previous relevant teaching experiences

- Holds, or is currently studying towards, a Bachelor of Music or equivalent

- Ability to prepare students for AMEB and AMEB Rockschool exams (training can be provided)

- Speaks other languages

This position is most well-suited to teachers who are dedicated to a students' long-term musical development and enjoy seeing students progress and succeed.

Pay: $35.00 – $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 – 10.0 per week
