We are seeking a reliable and motivated Fresh Truffle Grader and Truffle Farm Maintenance Employee to assist with the harvesting, grading, packing, and quality control of premium fresh truffles, while also supporting the ongoing maintenance and presentation of our truffle farm.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in maintaining high quality standards.
- Receive, clean, sort and grade fresh truffles according to company quality standards.
- Assess truffles for size, shape, maturity, aroma and quality.
- Prepare and pack fresh truffles for domestic and international customers.
- Maintain accurate grading, inventory and traceability records.
- Ensure packing and storage areas meet food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Assist with order preparation and dispatch during peak harvest periods.
Truffle Farm Maintenance
- Assist with irrigation system monitoring and maintenance.
- Perform mowing, whipper snipping, spraying and general orchard maintenance.
- Support weed, pest and disease management programs.
- Maintain fences, tracks, machinery and farm infrastructure.
- Assist with tree maintenance and seasonal farm operations.
- Help prepare the farm for harvesting activities and visitor presentations.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, food production or quality control is desirable.
- High attention to detail and ability to consistently assess product quality.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Basic machinery operation experience would be advantageous.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
Requirements
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Ability to undertake manual handling tasks.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during the truffle harvest season.
- Right to work in Australia.
