About the role

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Duty Manager to join the team at HER Melbourne.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that the design and personality of a venue are fundamental to the guest experience. You'll be someone who naturally notices the details - atmosphere, music, lighting, team energy, and overall flow of the venue - and knows how to bring these elements together to create an exceptional experience.

You'll be the go-to manager across all four floors, leading from the front while empowering the team around you. We want someone who brings their own personality to the role, builds genuine connections with guests and staff, and creates an environment where people want to return, both as customers and team members.

- Lead the venue with energy, confidence and personality, creating a memorable and engaging guest experience

- Understand and champion the character and individuality of each space, ensuring the venue is always presented at its best

- Oversee service, RSA, guest experience and day-to-day operations

- Work closely with chefs,



supervisors and wider management team to ensure a seamless service

- Support, coach and mentor junior and existing staff, helping them build confidence, skills, and their own hospitality style

- Be a positive and approachable leader who leads by example and creates a supportive team culture

- Provide guidance and support to F&B; supervisors throughout the shift, as a leader who is visible and engaged on the floor

- Assist with training, onboarding, feedback and ongoing development of the team

- Work closely with Security to maintain strong WHS standards while protecting the atmosphere and guest experience

- Troubleshoot and confidently manage challenges as they arise

- Be responsible for the successful opens & closes of the venue

What we are looking for

- A hospitality leader who understands people, atmosphere and the importance of creating a sense of place

- Demonstrated experience in a Duty Manager or senior hospitality leadership role

- A natural ability to use your personality and presence to connect with guests and create an engaging atmosphere

- Strong operational experience, including shift management, troubleshooting, directing and delegating

- A proactive eye for detail and a strong understanding of how the physical venue impacts the guest experience





- Excellent communication and organisation skills; give feedback, mentor, and nurture our staff

- Confidence leading a diverse team in a busy, multifaceted environment

- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety standards

- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including late nights, weekends and public holidays
