About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Junior Accountant to join our growing public practice team. This role is a brilliant launchpad for an entry-to-early-career professional looking to gain end-to-end tax compliance and advisory exposure. Working directly with clients and under the mentorship of senior leadership, you will manage workflows spanning individual and entity tax preparation, payroll, and bookkeeping.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and draft accurate tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Trusts, and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs)

- Conduct professional, in-person client meetings to gather tax data, discuss financial records, and build solid professional relationships

- Prepare and lodge quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) alongside GST reconciliations

- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for client files, managing Single Touch Payroll (STP) obligations, superannuation guarantee (SG), and leave calculations

- Perform complete bookkeeping duties, matching bank feeds, reconciling general ledgers,



and resolving discrepancies across cloud platforms

About you

- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with the personal confidence to consult with business owners face-to-face

- High level of attention to detail with data entry, compliance deadlines, and Australian tax law mechanics

- Minimum of 6+ months of experience within an Australian public practice or accounting environment

- Currently undertaking, or holds a strong desire to commence, the CPA, CA, or Tax Agent certification pathway

- Prior exposure to modern accounting suites such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or specific practice management software
