About the role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities that support Shermac's growth objectives. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong customer relationships, expanding market presence, increasing revenue, and promoting Shermac's products and services across targeted industries.

Key responsibilities

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with company growth objectives
- Develop and execute business development plans to achieve revenue targets
- Build relationships with prospective clients, industry networks and key stakeholders
- Research market trends, customer requirements and competitor activities
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Manage customer relationships to maximise long-term business opportunities
- Conduct client meetings, presentations and site visits
- Prepare proposals, quotations and tender submissions
- Negotiate commercial arrangements within delegated authority
- Support the conversion of leads into profitable contracts





About you

- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales or account management
- Solid commercial and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and business growth objectives
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
