We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded purchasing professional to take ownership of supplier relationships, procurement activities and import coordination in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Working closely with our Supply Chain Manager and cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in securing reliable supply, managing supplier performance, negotiating competitive pricing and ensuring materials are available to meet production demand.

What you'll be responsible for

- Procurement and purchasing: Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing materials and consumables to meet operational and production requirements.

- Supplier management: Build and maintain effective relationships with domestic and international suppliers, negotiating pricing, availability, lead times and commercial terms.

- Import coordination: Manage import orders and associated logistics, documentation and delivery timelines to support continuity of supply.

- Inventory and planning: Monitor stock levels, review demand fluctuations and forecasting requirements, and work with Supply Planning, Warehouse and Production to ensure materials are available when needed.

- Supplier performance: Monitor delivery performance, follow up outstanding orders and proactively resolve supply issues.

- Cost and process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, manage inventory costs and reduce waste.

- Systems and reporting: Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information in our ERP system,



analyse data and use Excel to support purchasing and inventory decisions.

- Quality and compliance: Work with the Quality team to ensure suppliers meet relevant food safety, quality and regulatory requirements before purchasing.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who combines commercial judgement with strong execution, attention to detail and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.

To be successful, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in procurement and purchasing within food manufacturing or an import workplace.

- Proven experience sourcing and negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.

- A strong understanding of inventory management, forecasting and production planning requirements.

- Experience managing import logistics and monitoring supplier performance.

- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

- Knowledge of food safety, quality and regulatory compliance requirements.

You'll be proactive, commercially aware and comfortable managing competing priorities. You will take ownership of issues, anticipate potential supply disruptions and work collaboratively to deliver practical solutions.
