We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to lead our Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement and Warehouse & Distribution teams.

This management role is responsible for driving operational performance, improving productivity, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring effective flow of materials and products from manufacturing through to delivery.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the senior management team, you will foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Manufacturing: Lead production operations, ensuring output targets, product quality, efficiency, and delivery schedules are achieved.

- Engineering: Oversee engineering activities, equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Warehouse & Distribution: Manage inventory control, warehousing, dispatch, logistics, and distribution to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.

- Procurement: Ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of materials, components, equipment, and services.

- Commercial: Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.

- Leadership: Lead, develop, and motivate departmental managers and their teams, establishing clear goals, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

- Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce waste, minimise downtime, and optimise the use of people, equipment, and resources.

- Performance Management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments, taking action to address performance gaps.

- Planning & Coordination: Align production schedules,



engineering resources, inventory availability, and distribution requirements to meet customer demand.

- Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, quality standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.

- Cost Control: Manage operational budgets, labour costs, inventory levels, and other expenses while maintaining quality and service standards.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with sales, finance, and senior management to support business objectives and customer satisfaction.

You are a practical, commercially minded operations leader who understands how manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain functions work together to deliver business results.

You will bring:

- Proven experience managing manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, distribution, or integrated industrial operations.

- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams and develop strong departmental leaders.

- A solid understanding of production planning, inventory management, maintenance, and logistics.

- Experience improving operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Experience managing budgets, resources, and operational KPIs.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
