About the role

Dear Nonna is seeking a talented, creative and experienced Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality desserts, pastries and baked goods, with a strong focus on flavour, consistency and presentation. We are looking for someone who is passionate about traditional Italian desserts, has a creative approach to pastry making and is confident managing the pastry section independently.

Key responsibilities
Prepare and produce a variety of high-quality desserts, pastries, cakes and baked goods
Create authentic Italian desserts, including tiramisu, panna cotta, cannoli and other specialty desserts
Prepare pastry doughs, creams, fillings, sauces and dessert components from scratch
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion sizes and presentation
Develop new desserts and seasonal menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef
Oversee the daily operations of the pastry and dessert section
Plan and organise daily preparation to meet service requirements
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff where required




Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies
Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards

About you
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a restaurant, bakery or hospitality environment
Robust knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods and dessert preparation
Experience preparing traditional Italian desserts is highly regarded
Ability to independently manage a pastry section
Creative flair and excellent attention to detail
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced kitchen
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
