RIVA sits right on the Brisbane River at Northshore Hamilton. We’re a busy café and a growing functions business, hosting events of from 20 to 300. We’re owner-operated, with a sister venue, The Garden Room at Roma Street Parkland, so you’ll have real support behind you and room to grow.

The role

You’ll run the venue day to day. That means leading a team of 20, running café service, and delivering functions with the support of our dedicated function coordinator and trained function supervisors. You’ll recruit, train and retain your own team, and manage rosters, labour and COGS against budget. You’ll report to the owners, who work in the business and are there to support you. Your bonus is tied to sales and labour cost performance.

Hours

5 days a week: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Tuesday and Wednesday off.



Weekends are a flex of cafe management and event execution - however oversite of functions & events is supported by our function supervisors, no open to close shifts required

You’ll bring
2+ years managing a café, restaurant or venue, including functions and events
A track record of recruiting, training and retaining solid hospitality teams
Proven labour and cost-of-goods management
A hands-on, lead-from-the-floor management style
Calm under pressure on a 250‑guest event night
Current RSA (Food Safety Supervisor certificate highly regarded)
