With a growing pipeline of work across Queensland, we're looking for a Project Engineer to join our Brisbane-based team.About the RoleYou'll work closely with our State Manager, site teams, subcontractors and clients to plan, coordinate and deliver a range of civil and infrastructure projects.
You'll take ownership of smaller projects while working alongside Project Managers on larger, more complex projects.This is a hands‐on role with responsibility across both the engineering and commercial sides of project delivery.
You'll have the opportunity to manage projects from planning through to completion, while developing your experience in specialised construction methods.Your responsibilities will include:Taking ownership of project delivery, including independently managing smaller projects and contributing to the delivery of larger projectsManaging day‐to‐day engineering and construction activities across civil and infrastructure projectsDeveloping and managing project plans, programs, construction methodologies and sequencingPreparing and maintaining project documentation, including SWMS, ITPs, permits,



reports and engineering recordsManaging subcontractors, suppliers and site activitiesManaging project procurement, subcontractor scopes, and contributing to tendering and estimating activitiesManaging and reporting on project progress, costs, quality and key milestonesPreparing and managing progress claims, variations, contractual correspondence and other commercial activitiesWorking with clients, major contractors, councils and other stakeholdersIdentifying and resolving technical and construction challengesCoordinating works around existing services, traffic and other site constraintsEnsuring project activities meet safety, quality, environmental and contractual requirementsWhat We're Looking ForWe're interested in hearing from Project Engineers with a robust foundation in civil construction.
You don't need to tick every box.Ideally, you'll bring:A degree in Civil or Mechanical EngineeringAt least 4 years' experience in civil construction or infrastructure project deliveryDemonstrated experience managing construction activities, subcontractors and site teamsAn understanding of project documentation, quality requirements and construction processesExperience managing project costs,



preparing progress claims and variations, and maintaining commercial documentationStrong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients, contractors and other stakeholdersStrong organisational and problem‐solving skillsA practical, adaptable approach and willingness to take ownershipExperience that would be highly regarded, but isn't essential:Water, wastewater or sewer infrastructurePipelines, utility relocations, shafts or trenchless constructionProjects involving live traffic, existing services or constrained urban environmentsIf your experience is primarily in roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities or broader civil construction, we'd still encourage you to applyWhy Join Bothar?
