Alvia Asset Partners is looking for an Investment Associate to join our Brisbane team.
Full-time, in our CBD office, reporting to our Chief Investment Officer.This is a newly created role.
You'll be part of the investment team, doing investment manager research and due diligence with a focus on fixed income and alternatives.
You'll also be one of the people who takes those views out to clients, sitting in review meetings, answering investment questions, and building relationships with prospective investors and referral partners.It suits an early to mid-level investment professional who wants to stay close to the analysis while building a client-facing career.What you'll be doingInvestment researchResearching, assessing and monitoring external investment managersWriting manager review papers and owning the manager and holdings review calendarCoordinating investment team inputs for our modellingBringing new opportunities to the investment team with your findings and a recommendationTracking fixed income and alternatives markets, and pulling together quantitative and macro dataSupporting the CIO, Portfolio Managers and Senior Investment Strategist on broader portfolio mattersContributing to quarterly investment commentary, market updates and performance narrativeClients and marketActing as the investment team's first point of contact for client investment enquiriesBuilding relationships with select clients and deepening their understanding of how we invest and how their portfolio is positionedAttending client review meetings alongside the CEO and investment teamPreparing client investment materials, including portfolio commentary,



meeting packs and follow-upsRepresenting Alvia with prospective investors and referral sourcesDelivering investment presentations to prospects and referral partners, alongside the CEO and investment teamAttending industry events and client functionsTranslating investment team views into easy-to-understand language, across written updates and presentationsWhat we're looking forAt least 3 years in investment management, private wealth, investment advice or a related financial services roleA relevant tertiary degree in commerce, finance, economics or similar.
Progress towards or completion of the CFA program is viewed favourablyClient-facing experience, such as an associate investment adviser or client-facing analyst at an investment or private wealth firm, is highly regardedExposure to investment manager research is desirableStrong Microsoft Office skills, with Excel ability essentialFactSet or a similar investment system is well regardedSomeone who can form a view on markets and articulate it clearly, to clients and to colleaguesA confident communicator who builds rapport naturally and can make technical concepts land with a non-specialist audienceCommercially minded, with the initiative to find and pursue recent relationshipsExceptional attention to detail and naturally inquisitiveAbout AlviaAlvia Asset Partners is an investment management business for family offices, high net-worth investors and other wholesale investors.We invest across public and private markets with a focus on capital preservation and patiently compounded absolute returns.
