The role focuses on disability-related merits review and administrative appeals work.You will act for a key government client in the review of decisions affecting people with disability, including matters involving eligibility, supports, funding, and broader administrative frameworks.
The work is predominantly merits review before the Administrative Review Tribunal, with opportunities to contribute to advisory work, litigation strategy, and improvements in administrative decision‐making.Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:Manage a busy caseload of disability‐related merits review mattersPrepare high‐quality submissions, evidence summaries, and case strategiesConduct tribunal appearances, conferences,



and negotiationsProvide clear, well‐reasoned advice to government decision‐makersWork collaboratively with internal teams, counsel, and government stakeholdersSupport continuous improvement in administrative law processes and legal risk managementWho We Are Looking ForThe successful candidate will meet the following criteria:Between 1-8 years' PQE with experience or interest in disability merits review, administrative law, or tribunal advocacyStrong analytical skills and the ability to apply complex legislative frameworksExcellent written advocacy and confident oral advocacySound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to manage sensitive mattersA commitment to fairness, procedural integrity, and high‐quality public administrationWhat We OfferWe take a collaborative approach to your learning & development, giving you the personal attention and unique opportunities required to help you realise your full potential.
