Maintenance Supervisor - Building MaterialsReporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day maintenance coordination and financial performance within your delegated authority at an industrial manufacturing site.
A key priority will be understanding what is driving expenditure, challenging avoidable costs and implementing practical controls around overtime, work allocation and scheduling.
You will need to demonstrate previous success managing maintenance budgets and delivering measurable savings while maintaining safety, equipment reliability and production requirements.Key responsibilitiesMonitor maintenance expenditure against budget, investigate variances and implement corrective actionsAnalyse overtime, call-outs, labour allocation and work orders to identify unnecessary expenditureIntroduce consistent overtime pre-approval and verify timesheets against completed maintenance activitiesDeliver a findings report and practical savings plan within the first four weeksProvide weekly cost and performance updates, supported by monthly budget, savings and risk reportingAgree weekly maintenance schedules with Production and coordinate trades,



contractors and vendorsImprove preventive maintenance compliance and reduce reliance on reactive maintenancePrioritise maintenance backlogs according to equipment criticality and production needsLead daily maintenance prestarts, allocate work and set clear expectationsMaintain strong standards for protected isolation, lockout/tagout, permits to work and contractor managementAbout youA relevant mechanical or electrical trade qualification, or engineering qualification, backed by substantial industrial maintenance experienceDemonstrated experience supervising maintenance teams in manufacturing or industrial environmentsProven ownership of maintenance budgets, including investigating overspend, controlling overtime and delivering measurable cost improvementsPractical knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance, equipment reliability and shutdown coordinationStrong CMMS experience, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules and backlog managementConfidence analysing maintenance costs and timekeeping data using ExcelClear communication, sound judgement and the ability to hold people accountable while maintaining productive working relationships
