The opportunityWe're looking for a Steel Tank Design Engineer to take ownership of our steel bolted tank range.
This is a rare chance to shape a product category: refine what we already make, build out current ranges, and make our tanks more cost-effective, more standardised and easier to quote and build.You'll report to the Category Manager – Metal Tanks and work closely with our estimating, drafting, procurement and production teams.This role can be based at either our Prestons (Sydney) or Carole Park (Brisbane) site, and we're flexible on location for the right person.What you'll be doingReviewing our standard tank designs for technical accuracy, Australian Standards compliance and cost efficiency, and recommending improvements with supporting calculationsLeading the design and documentation of our Stainless Steel Liner Tank range through to productionDeveloping a standard rectangular tank range, with structural and layout designs ready for draftingBuilding and maintaining version-controlled Bills of Materials across our round and rectangular rangesAssessing bespoke tank inquiries for feasibility and manufacturability,



and turning around design and costing quicklyContributing design input and preliminary costing for new product developmentWorking with suppliers to finalise material specs (grades, coatings, gaskets, sealants) for potable, fire and process applicationsDriving cost savings through design optimisation, alternative materials and better construction methodsWhat you'll bringA degree in Structural or Mechanical EngineeringExperience in structural or mechanical design, ideally with tanks or fabricated steel productsStrong knowledge of relevant Australian StandardsExperience with steel and stainless steel design and fabricationConfidence producing engineering calculations, specifications and technical documentationExperience developing standard designs and BOMsProficiency in CAD and engineering design softwareA practical understanding of design for manufacture and installationCommercial awareness and a sharp eye for detailGenuine ownership: your designs go into production and make a measurable differenceChoice of location: work from our Prestons or Carole Park siteA collaborative team that values continuous improvement and fresh ideasThe chance to grow with a business that's investing in its product range
