Adelaide | Civil & Water Infrastructure | Leadership OpportunityAn excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to take ownership of a growing stormwater and civil capability in a mid tier firm in Adelaide.
This role is suited to someone with strong technical credentials, an established South Australian network and the ambition to build and lead a team around them.Your new roleYou will initially take a hands-on role across stormwater, drainage and civil infrastructure projects, while progressively building the team and broader capability.A key part of the position will be leveraging your reputation and relationships within the South Australian market to develop opportunities, strengthen client relationships and recruit and mentor engineers as the project pipeline grows.Responsibilities will include:Lead the delivery of stormwater, drainage and civil infrastructure projectsProvide senior technical oversight across design, modelling and documentationDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, councils, developers and infrastructure stakeholdersIdentify and convert new project opportunities across the South Australian marketBuild a high-performing civil and stormwater team around youRecruit, mentor and develop engineers and designersEstablish strong technical and delivery standards across the teamWork closely with senior leadership to shape the growth strategy for the Adelaide businessDevelop the capability into a sustainable,



commercially successful service offeringWhat you'll need to succeedYou will be an experienced Civil Engineer who combines strong stormwater expertise with the commercial and leadership capability to grow a team.Ideally, you will bring:Degree-qualified Civil Engineering backgroundStrong experience across stormwater, drainage and civil infrastructureMid-senior, Associate or Principal-level consulting experienceEstablished relationships and credibility within the South Australian marketExperience winning work or contributing to business developmentStrong client-facing and stakeholder management skillsAn ability to mentor and develop engineersA genuine desire to build a team rather than simply inherit oneChartered status or equivalent professional accreditation would be highly regardedWhat you'll get in returnThis represents an opportunity to move beyond a traditional senior engineering position and take genuine ownership of a growing capability.
