Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a local government owned client to support them in recruiting for a Sample Reception Officer to join their NATA accredited environmental testing laboratory in Darra on an immediate start contract.
About the role
Pay rate of $***** per hour + super
6-month contract from 2 November **** to 30 April ****, with extension potential
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (38 hours per week)
Receive, inspect and register water and environmental samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Verify sample documentation and chain of custody records for completeness and accuracyCoordinate sample storage, preservation and distribution to the chemistry and microbiology testing sections
Act as a key point of contact for customer sample enquiries and resolve discrepancies with clients, field teams and couriers
Prepare and dispatch sample containers,
wash laboratory glassware, and complete occasional courier runs
Full training provided on laboratory systems, procedures and quality requirements
Preferred Requirements
Experience in a laboratory, scientific, environmental or similarly regulated workplace
Experience with LIMS or comparable databases highly regarded
Previous experience in an ISO ***** or NATA accredited laboratory favourable
Strong customer service skills and a confident phone manner
High attention to detail and accurate data entry
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Science qualification (for example chemistry, microbiology, environmental or laboratory science), or a business qualification, or relevant work experience
