It's an opportunity to build something meaningful, grow a respected electrical services business, and be recognised for the results delivered.
About Voltec Services
Voltec Services is an electrical and technology services business, delivering safe, profitable, and high-quality work across construction and service sectors.
What you'll be doing?
Leading client and technical conversations: Taking charge of major site visits and technical discussions with clients, reviewing estimates and tenders, and protecting margin, cash flow, and capacity by escalating anything outside agreed limits.
Driving operational readiness: Owning handover processes, resource planning, materials readiness, scheduling decisions, and job-risk visibility to keep the business running smoothly day to day.
Building team capability: Providing or coordinating technical guidance for office and field teams, with a focus on developing supervisors and technicians so expertise is shared across the business.
Leading and developing the team: Setting direction, coaching performance, supporting team reviews, and fostering a constructive and safe culture, while recommending hiring and performance decisions for the director's approval.
Strengthening client relationships:
Building rapport during site visits and tenders, and taking ownership of client concerns, variations, and disputes through clear, documented resolution.
Upholding standards: Maintaining regulatory and company standards, ensuring risk assessments, site checks, testing, and completion reviews are consistently completed and visible.
Tracking performance: Using the company scorecard and job data to manage utilisation, margin, quote conversion, schedule risk, and overall operating performance.
Improving systems and processes: Using Simpro and other approved systems consistently, refining workflows and reporting, and helping the team get the most out of these tools.
Supporting marketing efforts: Coordinating the operational and sales input needed for marketing activities and applying Voltec's marketing-spend guidelines.
Leading a sizeable team: Reporting directly to the business owner and overseeing a team of approximately 20 staff across the operation.
Who are Voltec looking for?
Strong communicator: Bringing strong interpersonal and client-facing skills to build trust with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
Confident decision-maker: Demonstrating natural decision-making ability and sound judgment, especially when working under pressure.
Commercially minded:
Having a demonstrated sales and commercial instinct that supports profitable, sustainable growth.
Curious and resourceful: Approaching challenges with a learner mentality and a drive to seek out reliable information before making decisions.
People leader: Showing the ability to lead teams, resolve conflict, and build genuine trust across the business.
Experienced in trade leadership: Holding relevant operational leadership experience within electrical or trade services.
Qualified and licensed: Holding the minimum required electrical qualification and licensing for the role.
Technically grounded: Bringing a minimum level of hands‐on technical experience in the electrical trade.
Systems savvy: Simpro proficiency from day one is required for this role.
English proficiency: Robust English communication skills are needed to liaise confidently with clients, teams, and stakeholders across the business.
Eligible to work in Australia: Full working rights in Australia are required for this role.
