The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation – Chermside QLD
Help create a workplace where people feel supported, valued and empowered to thrive.
Are you an experienced People & Culture professional who enjoys being a trusted advisor to managers, making things better and creating a great employee experience?
We're at an exciting point in our People & Culture journey, and we're looking for someone who wants to help turn positive ideas into meaningful change.
About the role
At The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, we've recently completed an organisation-wide employee survey, giving us valuable insights into what matters most to our people.
Now comes the exciting part – turning those insights into action.
We're looking for a Senior People & Culture Advisor to help turn our employee survey insights and future People Strategy into practical improvements. From strengthening our employee value proposition to creating a great employee experience from the moment someone accepts an offer, there's plenty of opportunity to make a real impact.
Our workforce is diverse, with around a quarter of our employees based in our Corporate Office and the remaining three-quarters working across four Social Enterprise cafés. You'll support over 100 employees across these two very different operating environments.
As our trusted internal People & Culture specialist, you'll be providing practical advice and coaching to managers while helping strengthen the policies, processes and everyday practices that support our people.
Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, this is a hands‐on role with autonomy in your day‐to‐day work, the opportunity to contribute ideas and the satisfaction of seeing improvements put into practice.
We're open to considering flexible working arrangements, including part‐time hours for the right candidate, recognising that excellent experience and capability can come with different working preferences.
What you'll be doing
Help bring our People Strategy to life
– support the delivery of agreed initiatives informed by employee feedback that strengthen our culture, engagement and employee experience.
Improve the employee journey
– develop and implement practical improvements across recruitment, onboarding, development, recognition and other key stages of the employee lifecycle.
Make things clearer and easier for everyone
– help roll out contemporary policies, Position Descriptions and practical resources so employees and managers understand what's expected and feel supported.
Contribute to a stronger employee value proposition
– help identify and implement improvements that make the Foundation an even better place to work.
Be a trusted advisor to our managers
– provide practical advice and coaching on employee relations, performance, conduct and everyday people matters.
Build manager capability
– support leaders to have better conversations and create positive, high‐performing teams.
Turn ideas into action
– identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working, and coordinate the implementation of agreed improvements.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who combines the technical expertise of an experienced People & Culture generalist with a genuine passion for creating a great place to work.
You'll bring:
Broad People & Culture experience, with the confidence and judgement to independently manage employee relations matters and provide trusted advice.
Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and contemporary people practices.
A natural ability to build relationships, coach managers and navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
A genuine interest in employee experience, engagement, organisational culture and continuous improvement.
The ability to turn agreed priorities into practical solutions and follow them through.
A proactive, collaborative approach and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
Experience supporting a diverse operational workforce, particularly in hospitality or under the Restaurant Industry Award, would be highly regarded. Experience using Employment Hero or a similar HRIS would also be advantageous.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, building relationships and making a positive difference.
At The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, we're passionate about helping people live healthier for longer.
Through our community and fundraising initiative, The Common Good, we fund life‐changing research, essential equipment and patient‐care programs that improve health outcomes for people across Queensland.
When you join our team, you'll be part of a supportive and values‐driven organisation where people genuinely care about the work they do and the difference they make.
We offer:
Meaningful work with visible community impact
A supportive and collaborative team culture
Salary packaging benefits
Flexible working arrangements where operationally appropriate
Discounted food and coffee and a workplace that values wellbeing and balance
If you're looking for a People & Culture role where you can use your expertise, contribute fresh ideas and help turn meaningful improvements into everyday experiences for employees, we'd love to hear from you.
