The Older Mens Network Inc (TOMNET) – Toowoomba QLD
Reporting to The Older Men's Network (TOMNET's) General Manager, you will take a lead role in establishing, implementing and managing the Seniors Volunteering Hub. This is a hands-on position combining community development, volunteer engagement, partnership building, program coordination and evaluation. You will have the opportunity to shape the Hub's operations, build its community presence and contribute to an evidence-based model with potential for expansion across Queensland.
This role is initially part-time fixed term (30.4 hours or 4 days per week) to December ****.
Key responsibilities
Establish and manage the Hub
, including operational systems, processes, resources and day-to-day activities.
Engage and support older volunteers
, exploring their interests, experience, skills and aspirations to identify meaningful opportunities.
Build partnerships with community organisations
, not-for-profits, schools and other services seeking volunteers.
Facilitate volunteer introductions and matching
, ensuring opportunities reflect individual preferences, availability and capabilities.
Provide ongoing volunteer engagement and support
, including follow-up contact and assistance to explore alternative roles as circumstances change.
Coordinate volunteer networking and recognition activities
, including regular Volunteer Connect Meetings, information sessions and community events.
Support participating organisations
to develop inclusive, accessible and flexible volunteering opportunities.
Promote the Hub
through community presentations, local networks,



events and collaboration on marketing and communications.
Maintain accurate program records
, monitor participation and outcomes, and prepare reports against project deliverables.
Contribute to the evaluation of the pilot
, including gathering evidence of social, community and economic benefits.
About you
We're looking for someone who is proactive, personable, organised and genuinely motivated by the power of volunteering to strengthen communities. You will ideally bring:
Experience in community development, volunteer management, program coordination or a related field.
Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to engage with a diverse range of community stakeholders.
An understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with ageing, retirement, social isolation and community participation.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of a developing program.
Sound administrative, digital and reporting skills.
A team-oriented, practical and solutions-focused approach.
