Turn your potential into community impact
Start your career with hands-on experience at Blacktown City Council as a Graduate Finance from mid-February ****. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you help support the financial management that underpins Council's operations, projects and services. You gain practical experience while contributing to work that helps Council make informed decisions and manage resources responsibly.
Through rotations across different finance functions, you assist with budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis. You maintain financial records, process and investigate transactions, respond to enquiries, prepare reports and financial summaries, and help improve business processes. Through day-to-day involvement in finance activities, you build a solid understanding of how financial information supports planning, service delivery and decision-making across a large local government organisation.
Your work helps ensure Council's resources are managed effectively and accurately. The information you provide supports the delivery of services, facilities and infrastructure relied on by a growing community.
This prospect suits a recent graduate who enjoys working with numbers,
analysing information and solving problems. You must have completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field by the commencement date or within the last 2 years, and bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
a term contract, full-time role for up to 2 years with one of Australia's largest councils
an entry level salary commencing at $1,****** per week
