The Opportunity

Urban Grounds & Gardens is seeking an experienced
Project Manager – Landscape Construction
to join our growing Construction Division.
n
n
Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing
concurrent commercial landscape construction projects
of varying size and complexity, including softscapes, hardscapes, irrigation and minor civil works.
n
n
We are looking for a capable, hands-on Project Manager with strong commercial acumen, proven leadership skills and an uncompromising commitment to workplace safety.
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Project Delivery:
Manage multiple projects from mobilisation through to practical completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to specification.
n
Commercial Management:
Take ownership of project budgets, cost control, forecasting, progress claims, variations and profitability.
n
Contract Administration:
Manage contractual obligations, project documentation, subcontractor procurement and head contractor requirements.
n
Leadership:
Lead and support Site Supervisors, Leading Hands, field teams and subcontractors, driving accountability, productivity and performance.
n
Safety & Compliance:
Champion workplace safety and ensure compliance with WHS legislation, SWMS, company procedures and site requirements.
n
Planning & Coordination:
Manage construction programs, resources, procurement, subcontractors and competing project priorities.
n
Stakeholder Management:
Maintain strong working relationships with head contractors, clients, consultants and suppliers.
n
Quality Assurance:
Oversee workmanship, inspections, defects management and project handovers.
n

Skills & Experience
n
Essential:
n
n
Minimum
5 years' experience




in construction project management, ideally within commercial landscape construction.
n
Proven experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects.
n
Strong commercial management skills, including budgets, cost forecasting, variations, progress claims and margin management.
n
Demonstrated experience working with commercial head contractors and administering construction contracts.
n
Proven leadership and people management capability.
n
Solid understanding of construction WHS requirements, risk management and compliance.
n
Experience managing subcontractor procurement, performance and costs.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
n
Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
n

Highly Regarded:
n
n
Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Project Management qualifications or related trade/tertiary qualifications.
n
Technical experience across softscape, hardscape, irrigation and minor civil works.
n
Proficiency in construction project management and reporting software.
n
n
