Join the Catering team at Figtree Private Hospital as a Chef, where you will play an important role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals for our patients, staff and visitors.
This is a permanent, part-time position requiring a minimum of 68 hours per fortnight across a seven-day rotating roster, including some 6:00 am starts.
Working within a supportive and collaborative kitchen team, you will contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety.
About You
You are a passionate and reliable Chef who takes pride in preparing quality meals and working as part of a busy team. You bring a strong focus on food safety, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established menus, recipes and dietary requirements
Ensure meals are prepared to a high standard of quality, taste and presentation
Assist with food preparation across different areas of the kitchen
Follow food safety, hygiene and infection prevention procedures at all times
Ensure appropriate food handling, storage and temperature control practices are maintained
Assist with stock control, ordering and appropriate storage of food supplies
Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment
Operate kitchen equipment safely and appropriatelyWork collaboratively with Catering team members to ensure meals are prepared and delivered on time
Support the provision of meals that meet individual patient dietary requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a strong focus on quality and customer service
You Will Also Bring
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef




Experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar environment
Sound knowledge of food preparation, food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to follow recipes, menus and dietary requirements accurately, including allergen management
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to lead in a busy kitchen environment
A reliable, positive and professional approach to work
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, safety and presentation
Willingness to work a flexibly roster Morning/Afternoon and Weekends
