Opening Day 1, Term ******, our new high school in Jordan Springs will serve the expanding communities of Jordan Springs and Ropes Crossing, located across both the Penrith and Blacktown Local Government Areas in Western Sydney. Initial enrolments will include Year 7 and Year 8 cohorts alongside specialised support classes catering to students with diagnosed disabilities and additional learning needs. The school's master plan accommodates anticipated future growth and incorporates state of the art learning environments and versatile outdoor spaces that foster collaboration, wellbeing and evidence based instructional practices. The educational framework of our school will emphasise explicit teaching and talent development strategies which are consistent with the Department of Education's High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) Policy. Situated near Wianamatta Regional Park, our school will respectfully acknowledge and celebrate the cultural heritage of the Dharug People, working in close partnership with the Yarramundi Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) to embed culturally responsive pedagogy and a deep respect for Aboriginal histories and cultures. Our school will serve a multicultural community where local partner primary schools report between 44% and 63% of students from language backgrounds other than English. Our school team is currently establishing meaningful community relationships which will ensure a strong, inclusive foundation for the school's successful launch next year, focused on prioritising equity and excellence across our community as well as creating a strong sense of belonging and authentic community partnerships.
These teaching positions offer a unique prospect to join our school's foundation staff, playing a pivotal role in establishing the school from inception. Staff will contribute to the development of our school's identity, culture and pedagogical approaches that will define the school's future.
