Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises (Kimbriki)
to appoint a General Manager Finance. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance executive to take on a broad leadership role where commercial acumen, strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement are equally valued.
The Opportunity
Kimbriki operates the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre at Terrey Hills, delivering essential waste management and resource recovery services to the Northern Beaches community and commercial customers. With shareholdings limited to Northern Beaches Council and Mosman Council, the organisation plays a vital role in reducing waste to landfill and increasing resource recovery.
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager Finance will provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing financial performance, commercial strategy, governance and risk management. Working closely with the executive team and Board, you will support key investment decisions, strengthen financial sustainability and translate financial insights into practical business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and consolidation for management, Board and council shareholders.
Oversee cash flow, operational expenditure and capital expenditure, ensuring effective financial control.
Partner with Operations on capital works, project costs and long-term financial planning.
Contribute to the organisation's 10-year business plan and financial sustainability.
Build strong relationships with the Board,



Audit and Risk Committee, council shareholders and operational leaders.
Oversee month end process, statutory reporting, audit, taxation, payroll insurance, compliance and risk management.
Lead and develop the finance team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Manage commercial contracts and perform the Company Secretary function, supporting effective Board governance.
Business process improvement and digital transformation.
About You
You are a seasoned finance leader who combines technical expertise with commercial judgement, strategic perspective and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Comfortable engaging with the Board and working alongside operational teams, you build trusted relationships and communicate complex financial information clearly.
You will bring:
Tertiary accounting qualifications and CA or CPA membership.
Extensive senior finance experience across financial and management accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
Strong financial modelling, business planning and capital expenditure oversight capabilities.
Proven experience leading and developing finance professionals.
Confidence engaging with executive leaders, Boards and external stakeholders.
Commercial experience in contract management, cost control and business partnering.
A solutions-focused approach, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience in local government, council-owned organisations or Board environments will be highly regarded. Waste or recycling industry experience is not essential.
