KG Talent is seeking an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of a leading Australian manufacturer of steel building products based in Toowoomba.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day operations, lead a hands-on team and make a real impact across production, safety, service and business performance.
We're looking for a practical, people-focused leader who understands manufacturing, knows how to get the best out of a team and is always looking for ways to improve.
What you'll be doing
Lead day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities
Manage production, workflow, resources and operational priorities
Lead, coach and develop teams to achieve strong results
Drive workplace health and safety standards across operations
Monitor productivity, quality, costs and delivery performance
Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and output
Ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards
Work closely with sales, warehouse, transport and other teams to meet customer commitments
Manage operational challenges and resolve issues quickly
Track key performance measures and drive continuous improvement
Build a positive, accountable and safety-focused team culture
About you




You're a hands-on operations leader who can balance the bigger picture with the day-to-day details. You communicate well, make sound decisions and know how to turn business priorities into practical results.
You'll bring:
Experience in operations or manufacturing leadership
Solid people management and team development skills
A solid understanding of production planning and workflow
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Experience improving productivity, quality and operational performance
Good commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
A practical, proactive approach and a willingness to lead from the floor
Experience in steel manufacturing, roll forming, building products or industrial manufacturing will be highly regarded.
