The Role and The Challenge

We are seeking an exceptional, highly energetic, and proactive Staff Full Stack Engineer to lead technical delivery and architectural strategy across our most critical programs. You will act as an elite technical partner, injecting momentum into complex enterprise environments and eliminating operational inertia from day 1.

If you are content with picking up standard tickets, writing boilerplate code, or waiting for rigid top down specifications, this is not the role for you. We want a true technical leader who brings high energy, practices respectful thought leadership, and takes complete architectural ownership of ultra rapid and highly performant full stack systems. You will step into a high trust and fully empowered environment where you will set engineering baselines, guide multiple squads, and own end to end production operations inside AWS.

Key Responsibilities

- Thought Leadership and Squad Uplift: Act as an energetic domain leader, energising engineering squads, providing constructive architectural guidance with empathy, and raising engineering standards across client engagements.
- End to End Architecture: Design, build, and scale production grade systems across the entire stack using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js,



establishing architectural standards for engineering squads.
- Modernisation and Asset Reuse: Spearhead the practical modernisation of existing legacy platforms, intelligently building upon and reusing existing enterprise technology assets rather than pushing for unnecessary ground up rewrites.
- System Design and Production Operations: Own comprehensive system design, applying 12 factor app principles and rigorous production safety to ensure your software is robust, observable, and fully prepared to operate reliably in high volume environments.
- Production Support and Blind Debugging: Maintain absolute visibility over production software where direct server access is restricted, leveraging correlation IDs, structured JSON logging, APM tracing, and dead letter queues.
- GraphQL Mastery and High Performance Frontend: Architect robust GraphQL APIs on the backend and build lightning fast, responsive interfaces using advanced Next.js features and strict state management.
- DevOps and AWS Infrastructure: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or TeamCity, deploying containerised workloads on AWS and managing secure configurations via dedicated secret vaults.

What You Bring (Technically)

- Staff Level Expertise: Proven commercial experience operating at a Staff Engineer level within modern and high performing engineering teams, leading architectural direction and mentoring technical talent.
- Full Stack TypeScript Mastery: Deep and hands on expertise writing production grade TypeScript on both the client and the server within monorepo architectures.
- Frontend & Backend Excellence: Mandatory, proven experience building complex single page applications using React and Next.js, paired with scalable backend services in Node.js and custom GraphQL implementations.
- Production Operations & DevOps Mastery: Extensive commercial experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS, managing CI/CD pipelines, containerisation with Docker, and rigorous production monitoring.
- Comprehensive Testing Discipline: Deep commitment to the testing pyramid, writing clean test code like production code, implementing integration tests, and maintaining contract testing standards.
- Tooling Fluency: A practical and delivery focused mindset on how to leverage modern AI tools to assist in software engineering and problem solving.
