The Role

Join Australia’s national broadcaster as part of the Finance & Operations team. This is a great opportunity to build valuable finance experience while supporting accounting, reporting and operation finance functions so the ABC can keep delivering for audiences across Australia.

The Job

- Ideal for an early-career professional looking to gain valuable experience in a supportive team environment;
- Prepare and post journals and monthly account reconciliations;
- Prepare ad hoc time sensitive financial reports as required;
- Draft correspondence and attend to general enquiries;
- Maintain department filing and financial systems;
- Prepare reports and analyse variances;
- Provide accounting services and advice to relevant business areas;
- Back-office treasury function including daily cash forecasting
- Quarterly reporting to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
- Provide support and backup to the Assistant Accountant and Asset Accountant

About You

You'll have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience. Ideally, you will be currently undertaking appropriate professional qualifications.
- Solid experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and finance systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven administration skills and the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures relating to assets and treasury.
- Exposure to dealing in foreign currencies including knowledge of the use of intermediaries would be advantageous




- Solid technical knowledge of accounting practices, including banking, accounts payable and receivable, and financial accounting.
