About the Opportunity

Join Austal as an Insulation Installer (Lagger) in Henderson WA and play a key role in supporting the construction, maintenance and sustainment of defence and commercial vessels from our Henderson facility. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, fitting and finishing of insulation systems across a variety of shipbuilding projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

What's Involved

- Installing and fitting insulation materials to pipes, ducts, equipment and structural components.
- Measuring, cutting and shaping insulation materials to specification.
- Reading and interpreting work instructions, drawings and technical documentation.




- Ensuring all work is completed within agreed production schedules and quality standards.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the work area.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve material utilisation.
- Working in accordance with Austal's Zero Harm safety culture and safe work practices.
- Collaborating with production teams and other trades to support vessel construction activities.

You'll Need

- Australian Full Working Rights.
- Previous experience in insulation installation, lagging, trade assistant work or a similar industrial environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks.
- Ability to accurately use measuring tools and perform basic calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental standards.

Desirable

- Experience within marine, shipbuilding, construction or industrial environments.
- High Risk Work Licence (Forklift and/or EWP).
- Experience reading technical drawings and specifications.
