About the role

Yella Terra is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machinist to join our team at our Braeside, Victoria facility. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. As a CNC Milling Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet our strict quality standards. This role is essential to our production capability and directly contributes to the success of our business objectives.

Key responsibilities

- Operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to technical specifications and engineering drawings

- Set up CNC machines, including tool changes, work-holding fixtures and calibration procedures

- Monitor machine operations during production runs and make adjustments as necessary to maintain accuracy and quality

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC milling equipment to ensure optimal performance

- Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring tools and techniques to verify compliance with specifications

- Identify and troubleshoot basic machine issues and communicate technical problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel

- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities produced and any quality issues encountered

- Adhere to all workplace health and safety protocols and company procedures

- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and targets

What we're looking for

- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines in a production environment

- Strong understanding of reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications

- Proficiency in setting up CNC machines and making programme adjustments

- Solid knowledge of machining operations, cutting tools and material properties





- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and gauges

- Ability to work to tight tolerances and maintain high quality standards

- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- A relevant trade qualification or demonstrated equivalent practical experience in CNC machining is preferred

- Familiarity with CAM software or CNC programming is advantageous but not essential
