Summer Hill

Child and Adolescent Psychologist

Part-time employee · Thursday and Friday · Summer Hill · $100,000–$120,000 FTE + super + supervision + PD

Three paid hours of non-clinical time, every working day.

At Ignite Psychology, we believe psychologists do their best work from a full cup. So we’ve built a role where documentation, planning and professional development happen in paid hours, not on unpaid evenings.

Ignite is growing, and in January 2027 we’re welcoming a new psychologist to our Summer Hill clinic.

Why Ignite

We’re an attachment-based child and family practice, built on three ideas:

• Depth over breadth. We specialise in child, adolescent and family mental health, and we go deep rather than wide.

• Clinicians who thrive. Your wellbeing matters as much as your clients’. We’d rather you flourish here for years than burn out in one.

• A team built on trust and character. We hire for who you are and shared values, then help you build deep expertise from there.

We see behaviour as communication: it’s not defiance, it’s distress. We work alongside parents, not around them.

The work

You’ll work with children, adolescents and families navigating anxiety, big feelings and emotional regulation, behaviour, social development, confidence and parent–child relationships. There’s also scope to contribute to our early-intervention work with educators, schools and allied health professionals.

Your day

Thursday and Friday, 10:00am–6:30pm:

• 10:00am–1:00pm: Paid non- clinical time. Notes, session planning, parent, school and referrer communication, training, career development and case reflection. Where it suits, you can do this from home.

• 1:30pm–6:30pm: Clinical block. Working with Children and Parents.

Clinical work happens in clinical hours. Everything that supports it, is paid and scheduled into your day.

What we offer

• $100,000–$120,000 FTE + super, depending on registration and experience (approximately $42,000–$50,500 for two days a week)

• Employee status: paid annual and personal leave, super.

• Practice-management and admin support for bookings and billing

• Paid clinical supervision and an annual PD allowance

• Regular case discussion with a warm, collaborative team

• Room to grow, with demand for more days when you’re ready

About you

• General registration or Endoresement (Clinical, Forensic etc) with AHPRA as a psychologist

• Eligibility for a Medicare provider number

• A current NSW Working With Children Check

• Experience working with children, adolescents and families – Highly Regarded

• A warm, practical, family-centred approach and sound clinical judgement

• Reliability and strong communication with parents, schools and referrers

• An interest in attachment-informed and trauma-informed practice

Experience with schools, parent coaching, Circle of Security or complex presentations is welcome but not essential.

How to apply

Email your CV and a short cover letter (one page is plenty) to ••••@ignitepsychology.co, answering:

1. What do you need from a workplace to do your best clinical work?

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a conversation about clinical fit, availability and how you’d like to build your practice.

Applications close Monday 30 November 2026.

Start date: January 2027.
