About Curragh

Curragh Mine, near Blackwater, is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in the Queensland Bowen Basin. It produces more than 12 million tonnes of coal per year through two Coal Handling and Preparation Plants (CHPPs).

About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent CHPP Production, you'll work to improve the performance of Curragh's two CHPPs. If you want to prove yourself as a process engineer, don't go looking for a positive plant. Find a struggling one that needs improving. Both CHPPs are undergoing significant changes, including debottlenecking, cyclone resizing and flowsheet changes. You'll have the opportunity to test ideas and deliver real improvements. The focus is on real process engineering and solving plant problems, not excessive reporting, logistics or unnecessary administration.

Your role will include:

- Working closely with operators and maintainers
- Identifying and delivering process improvements
- Providing technical support to operational teams
- Taking ownership of projects from investigation through to implementation
- Getting into the plant and working alongside operators

About You

We're looking for a hands-on Process Engineer who enjoys working with operators and solving problems in the plant.

You'll ideally have:





- A tertiary qualification in Process/Chemical Engineering/Metallurgy
- Experience as a Process Engineer in a CHPP
- A practical approach to problem solving
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with operators and maintainers
- A willingness to get out of the office and get your hands dirty
