Applicants must possess full and unrestricted Australian working rights.

What you will do:

- Analyse market insights & the customers buying behavior and make sales plans according to the business division strategy and targets.
- Identify, qualify, and manage market and customer leads, converting them into tangible business opportunities to maintain a strong and healthy sales pipeline.
- Actively engage in the market through customer visits, meetings, and regular interactions to build relationships, understand customer needs, and articulate the value of the company’s products and services.
- Develop tailored value based proposals that clearly address customer requirements, highlight key differentiators and unique selling points, and ensure timely follow up to advance opportunities.
- Review & negotiate commercial terms and conditions with customers, ensuring alignment with company policies, risk requirements, and profitability objectives while maintaining positive customer relationships. Obtain final approval from the Sales Manager.

- Manage and grow a healthy sales pipeline using CRM and digital tools for accurate forecasting and decision‑making.

WhatWe’reLooking For:

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
- 5+ years in technical sales, ideally in industrial process equipment.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and business development skills.
- Knowledge in separation technologies will be an added advantage.

An exciting opportunity is available to join our Hidrive team in Canning Vale, Perth as a Technical Sales Engineer.

This is a customer-facing technical role that works closely across Sales, Design & Engineering and Operations.

You will play a key part in ensuring customer requirements, particularly those involving electrical systems and vehicle electrical architecture, are clearly understood and translated into practical, accurate and commercially viable solutions.

If you enjoy combining technical knowledge with problem‑solving, customer engagement and commercial thinking, and have a genuine aptitude for electrical systems, this could be the opportunity for you.

About you

You will have a strong technical background with a clear aptitude for electrical systems and the confidence to apply your own judgement when assessing customer requirements, technical enquiries and product feasibility.

You will ideally have experience in technical sales, applications engineering or another customer‑facing technical role within a manufacturing or engineering environment. A trade qualification or equivalent technical background is required. For this role, we are specifically seeking candidates with demonstrated electrical knowledge, whether through formal qualifications, trade experience or hands‑on exposure to vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and 12V/24V architectures.

You will be comfortable working directly with customers and Sales while also engaging with Engineering when additional technical expertise is required.

You will have strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills, commercial awareness and a high level of attention to detail. Most importantly, you will take ownership of enquiries rather than simply passing them on, ensuring the information and solutions provided to customers are accurate and based on Hidrive’s actual product and manufacturing capabilities.

Experience within automotive, light commercial vehicles, light trucks or manufacturing will be highly regarded, particularly where it involved vehicle electrical systems, wiring harness design, electrical integration or aftermarket electrical installations.

About the Role

To provide a succinct summary of the role, you will be:

- Gathering, analysing and validating customer technical requirements to ensure they are clear, complete and accurate before progressing to Engineering.
- Applying your own technical knowledge and judgement to assess feasibility and resolve technical enquiries wherever possible.
- Acting as a key technical link between customers, Sales and Engineering throughout the enquiry lifecycle.
- Engaging directly with customers on technical matters and clearly communicating solutions, requirements and constraints.
- Supporting Sales with technical input into proposals, tenders and quotations.
- Owning the end‑state pricing presented to customers, ensuring accuracy, appropriate margin and commercial viability.
- Determining when specialist Engineering involvement is required and coordinating the engagement, including scope, timelines and stakeholder communication.

- Providing Engineering with clear and comprehensive technical requirements to minimise unnecessary back‑and‑forth.
- Monitoring and managing technical enquiries through the HubSpot Engineering Pipeline, ensuring the right priorities are being progressed.
- Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the Hidrive product range, with particular emphasis on electrical systems, wiring configurations and vehicle electrical architecture.
- Staying current with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements, including ADR and OEM standards.
- Applying electrical knowledge to assess feasibility of customer requirements involving electrical fit‑outs, auxiliary systems, lighting, power distribution and control systems.
- Working closely with Sales, Design & Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Customer Care to deliver practical customer solutions.
- Contributing to improvements in technical sales processes, requirements gathering, product documentation and system workflows.
- Ensuring technical advice and proposals provided to customers are accurate and represent a reliable source of truth.

What we offer

- Attractive remuneration on offer.
- In‑house product training provided.
- Work within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Exposure across Sales, Engineering, Operations and manufacturing.
- Opportunity to further develop your technical, commercial and customer engagement capability.
- Be part of a agile Australian business with opportunities for career growth.
