Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Specialist – General Medicine to work for the Department of Health (DoH) across the North West region. Servicing a population of approximately 116,000, the DoH North West, has major sites located approximately 50km apart, the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH).

The Department of Health – North West provides both acute and sub-acute general medicine, and a range of medical sub-specialty services including a large outpatient service. The department of Medicine has a team of general medicine physicians across the region currently providing general medicine services. The physicians have subspecialties/interests in Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Respiratory, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Diabetes, Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care.

The position is for a Fixed term full time, day worker (with on call), working up to 76 hours per fortnight,



commencing as soon as you would like to join our team until 21 April 2029.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the following essential criteria:

- holds specialist registration, or
- is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway, or
- is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality
- current Driver’s Licence
