Jonesy & Sons Pty Ltd is seeking a Truck Driver to join our road transport team on a casual basis for a trial period full time position is available. This is a pivotal role that ensures the secure and timely delivery of goods across our logistics network. Based in Thornton, NSW, you will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles and maintaining the high standards of service that our customers depend on. This casual position offers flexibility whilst providing meaningful work in the transport and logistics sector.

What you'll be doing

Operating heavy commercial vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with road transport regulations

Performing pre and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues

Unloading cargo whilst maintaining appropriate handling standards and securing loads safely

Maintaining accurate logbooks and delivery documentation as required

Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers and other team members to ensure smooth operations

Adhering to all relevant traffic laws, speed limits and fatigue management regulations

Maintaining a clean and professional appearance and representing Jonesy & Sons Pty Ltd positively

What we're looking for

A current Medium Rigid (MR) Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence with a clean driving record

Experience as a truck driver in commercial road transport environments is a bonus but not essential

A solid understanding of road safety regulations, including fatigue management legislation and the Heavy Vehicle National Law





Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues

Excellent time management and organisational abilities to meet delivery schedules

Physical fitness to safely perform loading and unloading tasks

A commitment to vehicle maintenance and safety reporting

Reliability and punctuality as essential attributes

Experience with GPS navigation systems and digital logbook compliance is advantageous
