Electrical Maintenance Supervisor - Afternoon Shift

An established, market-leading FMCG manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead its afternoon shift maintenance operations at a highly automated production facility in Western Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Supervisor, Electrical Leading Hand or Senior Maintenance Electrician looking to take ownership of shift maintenance activities within a modern, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of maintenance trades, drive equipment reliability and ensure production operations are supported through effective maintenance planning, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and coordinating electrical maintenance activities across the afternoon shift.
- Supervising, supporting and developing a team of maintenance trades and contractors.
- Providing hands‑on technical assistance with electrical breakdowns, automation faults and complex equipment issues.
- Driving preventative and reactive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Troubleshooting electrical control systems, PLC‑controlled machinery, VSDs, motors, sensors and automated production equipment.
- Working closely with production, quality and planning teams to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Identifying recurring equipment issues and implementing practical reliability improvements.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects, equipment upgrades and maintenance initiatives.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with electrical safety requirements and site procedures.
- Coordinating maintenance priorities, contractor activities and effective shift handovers.
- Promoting a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability and performance.

About You





To be successful, you'll ideally have:

- A recognised electrical trade qualification and current Australian Electrical Licence.
- Strong electrical maintenance experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging or a similar high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Electrical Leading Hand or Senior Maintenance Electrician.
- Excellent electrical fault‑finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience with PLC‑controlled machinery, industrial automation, VSDs, motors and electrical control systems.
- Exposure to automated production lines, conveyors, packaging equipment and associated manufacturing machinery.
- A solid understanding of preventative maintenance, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities and providing technical direction to tradespeople.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- A proactive approach to workplace safety and maintaining production efficiency.

Experienced Senior Maintenance Electricians and Electrical Leading Hands with demonstrated leadership capability who are ready to take the next step into supervision are encouraged to apply.
