The Role We’re on the lookout for a Casual Canteen Assistant to join the team! If you enjoy working with people, providing great service and being part of a busy, hands-on environment, this could be a great opportunity for you. Whether you’re interested yourself or know someone who would be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you. What you need to know: Approximately 2–3 shifts per week Availability to work either 7:00am–2:00pm or 4:00pm–9:00pm A friendly, approachable attitude with excellent customer service skills Confidence with cash handling and cash register/POS systems Flexibility to cover additional shifts when team members are on annual leave What you’ll be doing:



Preparing and serving a range of vegetarian food Providing friendly and productive service to our team members Operating the cash register and processing transactions Restocking and maintaining the Staff Store Keeping the canteen, equipment and work areas clean, sanitised and well organised Following food safety, hygiene and workplace requirements Supporting the wider canteen team and providing leave coverage when required A little experience with food is preferred, but not essential. The successful applicant will be required to complete a Food Handling Course, which will be funded by Sanitarium.
