Automation Engineer

Basis Expert Consulting Services Pty Ltd is looking for a full-time Automation Engineer to join our BCS family and work on our client sites.

You will work onsite, representing the BCS brand with a range of customers to gain invaluable experience, quickly.

Roles and Responsibilities:

SAP Basis, Job Automation (Symphony) and Cloud Migration – Implementation, Configuration and Support.

- Manage and automate SAP background jobs, covering scheduling, dependencies, monitoring and failure handling, to improve job reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Migrate SAP background jobs to the Symphony automation platform, including job definitions, schedules and dependencies.
- Work with customers on discovery to capture the existing job inventory, schedules and business requirements, and turn them into automation use cases.
- Plan and execute testing of migrated jobs before go-live, and resolve issues found during validation.
- Migrate on-premise SAP systems running on HANA, Oracle, Sybase ASE and DB2 to AWS and Azure cloud.
- Install, upgrade and support SAP systems (ECC, CRM, SRM, PO, BW, Solution Manager), including High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setups.
- Automate SAP installation, migration, monitoring and cloud infrastructure tasks using Shell, PowerShell, Python, API automation, SAP Cloud ALM and Appstore.




- Automate ITSM processes such as incident management in ServiceNow and Jira.
- Build Agentic AI solutions with Model Context Protocol (MCP) to automate SAP monitoring, troubleshooting, SAP Note analysis and job-failure resolution.
- Work with the ML team on models that predict SAP job status, runtime, schedule window and maintenance window.
- Provide production support, including root cause analysis, incident management, change requests (ChaRM and transports) and on-call support.
- Coordinate tasks within the team and guide team members to ensure on-time delivery.

Skills Required/preferred:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics and Communication) or a related field.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration and SAP automation.
- Strong expertise in SAP background job management and the Symphony job automation platform.
- Experience with SAP databases: SAP HANA, Oracle, Sybase ASE, IBM DB2 and MaxDB.
- Experience migrating SAP systems to AWS and Azure, including HA/DR and Pacemaker cluster setup.
- Scripting and automation skills in Shell, PowerShell, Python and API automation.
- Working knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, ChaRM and EWA analysis.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice and AppDynamics, including incident management automation.
- Knowledge of Agentic AI, MCP and machine learning-based SAP job prediction.
- Strong Linux and Windows administration skills.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in Blacktown NSW 2148
