About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bistro Supervisor to join the team at Giannitto Family Hotels in Gawler, SA. This is a casual position that offers flexibility while maintaining responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our bistro.

As Bistro

Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high operational standards. You will oversee staff, manage service quality, and ensure our guests enjoy a memorable dining experience that reflects the values and reputation of Giannitto Family Hotels.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate bistro staff during service periods, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of customer service
- Manage table allocations, reservations, and guest seating to optimise the dining experience
- Train and mentor staff members on service standards, menu knowledge, and company policies
- Monitor food and beverage quality, ensuring all dishes meet company standards before they reach customers
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations throughout the bistro
- Assist with stock management, inventory control, and ordering supplies as required
- Contribute to creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere that encourages repeat business
- Support promotional activities and special events as needed

What we're looking for

- Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a hospitality or food service setting
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Outstanding customer service orientation with a genuine passion for hospitality




- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure during busy service periods
- Attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations in food service
- Flexibility and reliability with the ability to work casual hours as required
- Preferred: Experience working in bistro, restaurant, or hotel environments
- Preferred: Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain
