About Eating House

Eating House is a busy, well-established restaurant in Rowville, proudly serving the local community since 2004.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we offer an extensive menu featuring modern Australian cuisine, pasta, grill, seafood, burgers and café favourites, along with private functions and catering.

We're looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Cook to join our friendly kitchen team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on cooking position within our busy restaurant kitchen, working alongside an experienced team to prepare and deliver consistently high-quality meals.

You'll have the opportunity to work across different kitchen sections, develop your skills and contribute to a positive, well-organised kitchen workplace.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and cooking meals from our extensive restaurant menu
- Working across breakfast, lunch and dinner services
- Assisting with grill, pasta, fry and general cooking sections
- Preparing fresh ingredients, sauces and daily mise en place
- Ensuring consistent food quality, presentation and portion sizes
- Managing multiple orders efficiently during busy service periods
- Following established recipes and kitchen procedures
- Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Assisting with stock rotation, storage and waste reduction
- Supporting kitchen operations during functions and events




- Working collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen team members

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Cook, Line Cook or Kitchen All-Rounder in a commercial kitchen
- Experience preparing and cooking meals in a busy restaurant or café
- Confidence using commercial kitchen equipment
- Good food preparation and basic cooking skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and food presentation
- Good time management and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends

Formal chef qualifications are not essential. We're more interested in your practical cooking skills, experience and attitude.
