About Us

Ol’ Mates Sandwich Shop is a busy neighbourhood sandwich shop in Earlwood, specialising in freshly made sandwiches, burgers and quality comfort food.

We're looking for a reliable, hands-on cook to join our kitchen team.

This is a straightforward cooking role suited to someone with commercial kitchen experience who enjoys working with good food in a friendly, organised environment.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for preparing food and cooking made-to-order menu items in a moderately fast-paced kitchen.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and assembling sandwiches and burgers to order.
- Cooking burger patties, proteins and other items on a commercial grill.
- Preparing and cooking chips.
- Completing straightforward daily food preparation.
- Using knives safely and confidently for basic food preparation.
- Following recipes, portion sizes and preparation procedures.
- Keeping your workstation clean and organised.
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.




- Working efficiently alongside the kitchen team during service.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, café or takeaway workplace.
- Confident using a commercial grill.
- Good basic knife skills.
- Ability to complete daily food preparation independently.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
- Comfortable working during busy service periods.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Must be available four days per week, including both Saturday and Sunday.

Formal chef qualifications are not required.
