We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Full time Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing quality meals, maintaining consistent food standards and supporting the smooth operation of our busy café kitchen.

Task & responsibilities Inspect fresh produce, meats, dairy products and other ingredients to ensure their freshness, quality and suitability for meal preparation.

Prepare and cook a variety of café-style dishes, including breakfast meals, burgers, sandwiches, grilled items, salads and other menu offerings. Operate and adjust grills, ovens, fryers and other kitchen equipment to achieve appropriate cooking temperatures and consistent food quality. Apply suitable seasonings, sauces and cooking techniques to enhance the flavour and presentation of dishes.

Assemble and plate meals with appropriate portion sizes, accompaniments, dressings and garnishes in accordance with café presentation standards.



Maintain proper storage of ingredients and prepared food, including monitoring refrigeration and freezer temperatures to ensure food safety. Prepare meals according to customers' dietary preferences and requirements, including vegetarian, gluten-free and other special dietary requests where available.

Assist with organising daily food preparation, monitoring ingredient usage and estimating stock requirements to minimise wastage. Guide and support junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, kitchen procedures and maintaining consistent cooking standards. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout food preparation areas while complying with applicable food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualification & experience Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Cook in a café, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen. Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a closely related field. Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen equipment.

Ability to prepare a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes while maintaining consistent quality. Good understanding of food safety, hygiene practices and safe food storage. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders during busy service periods.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a kitchen team. Good communication skills, reliability and attention to detail. About Company
