About our service

Located on Bedford Street at HMAS Albatross in Nowra, One Tree Tingira provides early learning and care for children and families within the Defence community.

For families navigating postings,



deployments and time apart, a familiar face and a warm welcome can mean a lot. You’ll help create a place where children feel safe, build friendships and grow in confidence, while families feel heard and supported.

From helping a child settle into their morning to celebrating a new discovery, the little moments you share will make each day meaningful. You’ll work alongside colleagues who care about children, families and each other, with opportunities to contribute your ideas and learn along the way.

Outside work, the Nowra area offers riverside scenery and bushland walks to explore, giving you plenty of ways to enjoy the community around you.

About your role

Working 30 hours per week, you’ll support the team during a period of maternity leave, with your contract running until 5 June 2027.

Alongside your Room Leader and fellow educators, you’ll contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive program that reflects children’s interests, strengths and individual learning goals.

You’ll help plan engaging experiences, contribute observations and documentation, and support daily routines with care. Through play and everyday interactions, you’ll encourage children’s curiosity, independence and sense of belonging.

You’ll also build positive relationships with families,



sharing meaningful updates and welcoming their knowledge of their child. Clear communication and teamwork will help maintain consistent care throughout your time with the service.

There may be an opportunity to stay with One Tree after the maternity leave contract ends, subject to available positions.

What you’ll bring

- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Experience within early childhood education and care
- An understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard
- Confidence contributing to programming, observations and children’s individual learning goals
- A commitment to child safety, active supervision and inclusive practice
- The ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A warm, reliable and collaborative approach to your work
- Availability to work 30 hours per week across the agreed roster until 5 June 2027
- Current NSW Working with Children Check and Police Clearance
